Still

Still

A Poem by J.

Still I wait for you
In my dreams I run
Into another page of transformation
Running from the demons
That haunt me relentless
Bring it out of me
Make this the beginning of the end
I cannot take the lie any longer
I want to reveal to you
All I am that you see in me
I know you do
These emotions destroy what is around me
The inevitable destruction
Most are unaware
Still I wait for you
You know where to find me
Why must I continue to suffer
In a place that knows no mercy
I can feel the blood course through me
Unlike anything known to them
Like an eternal fire burning
Ever subtle yet searing
And still I wait
For you to show me
To take me
To keep me
Hold me close
Never let go
They call out
And I cannot make it out
Come for me
Should I beg
Should I continue to pretend
To wane in this realm of torture
What did I do
Still I wait for you
