Without YouA Poem by J.
An eternity feels as if it has already passed
And I still linger here I believe time has a purpose And waits for no man But works with them just the same A calling guided and spoken through Many signs and symbols And I have to listen If I do not, I am lost Like I have felt for so long in silence I let you go Like a butterfly, I walked away As you seemed to fade long distance Yet I held you close Carried you secretly within An ocean of secrets where you swim Signs lead my thoughts to you Ever since and still And my heart grew saddened Began to accept What seemed like it's cruel fate Then you speak You say you feel the same In not so many words Expecting me to guess and know Maybe I do, yet wish to hear it But I know I feel Always have amidst all of this Never have I thought I'd hear you say Anything again I let you go your way Swallowed many tears each passing day As I watched you smile with them Sometimes in spite I'd do the same Pretending like a child Denial that held no truth within A lie to myself A broken promise to me again Here I am, without you Watching your pain Wondering if I will see you again Will you want to hold me? Will your heart bleed as mine did And still pours with nothing to hold it Without you, I write what is and has been And hope for what could be © 2011 J. |
