The Story

The Story

A Poem by J.
"

Speaks for itself

"

Behind his words
Something doesn't add up
The strength in their connection
Secretly she keeps to herself
She feels him near
In his eyes there is doubt
His sudden absence
Fallen too many times
To unexplained illnesses
Though many miles apart
He visits her sleep often
She welcomes his embrace
Keeping her warm
From the surrounding bitterness
A lie that is lived in her own life
As with him the same
Those eyes, in them
Tell the story of emptiness and pain
Something unfulfilled
Feeling trapped, lost and regret
Those eyes scream for release
Shall she gift him the request?
If only he'd take her hand
To soar into the arms of grace
A life unaccustomed to he'd be
Darkness, and the light
In harmony they could reside
Within and without
To transpire
His eyes speak volumes to her soul
Together
, there is no beginning, nor an end
Only a love they've both searched for
And have met eye-to-eye
His smile and spirit reached inside
And never left her
At that moment
They were one
If even for a brief moment in time
They both knew
She reaches out
Waiting, waiting, waiting still
