Mother To Mother

Mother To Mother

A Poem by J.
"

I wrote this about 7 years ago. Words from a mother to her own mother. Everything we as children put them through as children...now seeing it through the eyes of a Mother.

"
I now see and understand
When you touched your first born's hand
The joys and tears of pain and sorrow
As the days end, turn into tomorrow
I finally realize
All the reasons you had fear in your eyes
Toward every scrape, bruise, or fall
The worry caused when she didn't answer your call
I can relate
To a time you must have have felt hate
When you had to discipline
You had to then
I don't know how
But you managed somehow
Now I have touched my baby's hand
I have had to reprimand
As each passing day goes by
I feel the same series of tears in my eye
Looking back at my life entertwined with you
I tell you double over, "Mom, I love you!"

An awesome tribute; being male I will never (nor do I wish to) know the pains of labor or motherhood. However, this piece should be published even if in a mothers day card.
