the view of the soldier

A Poem by jag

this poem talks about a soldiers encounters during the first world war.

"

Every day at war people are dying

Back at home all you can hear are mothers crying

All these men shot up one by one like pins

I can’t believe people are dying to win

All you can smell are the rotting dead

I wish I was home sleeping and relaxing in bed

At night all I hear is a loud earth shaking BANG

These enemies that I face are like a giant gang

We approach the enemies one by one

I just wish the war was just done

Today when I was in the trench I got shot

While I was dying on the ground I had a thought

Was I really going to lay here and die in Rome?

After I awoken the doctors told me I was finally going home

We are angels fighting in hell

Finally the war is over and everything’s well
