Can't Imagine WhyA Poem by James ProbertThe pain never really goes away
It's said that love is blinding
So I guess that it makes sense I didn't see it coming Until it became past tense. I wanted to work harder To fix what we screwed up While I was prepping for the future You'd already given up. After the fog of love had cleared It finally dawned on me I wasn't the right guy for you And you weren't right for me I can't imagine why You bothered to begin A relationship with me When you wanted one with him I can't imagine why You acted like you cared You lied and said you loved me But the feeling wasn't there I can't imagine how I fell for your charade I should've seen it coming Like a marching band parade I can't imagine how The ending was a shock You were pulling back from me for months Before you punched the clock There's no more important lesson Than the one that you have taught Unless words turn into actions Run away before you're caught You told me so many things But it was all just words They never manifested Into feelings you put forth. Love is such a major thing But for you it is pretend The future that we both planned out Was never in your head © 2019 James ProbertReviews
