Trapped In This Nightmare

Trapped In This Nightmare

A Poem by James Probert
"

Another song that I have written. This one is about heartbreak.

"
I've fought and I'll fight
Despite all I've lost
If I rest for even a second
I'm not sure what it will cost
My heart's getting darker
And soon I may fade
If being lonely is the price
Then I've already paid.

I'm trapped in this nightmare
There's no getting out.
All the happiness I felt
Is now in a drought.
I'm completely alone
I'll never love again
And the only way out
Is to come to an end.

I'm stuck here alone
With no one to tell
About how my heart's breaking
And how I have failed.
I didn't mean to upset you
But you deserved the truth.
How could I have known
It was I who would lose?

I'm trapped in this nightmare
There's no getting out.
All the happiness I felt
Is now in a drought.
I'm completely alone
I'll never love again
And the only way out
Is to come to an end.

I don't see a light
At the end of this tunnel.
I just keep pushing on
Despite all my fumbles.
When will things get better?
I wish I could know
So this battle I'm fighting
Won't be my last road.

I'm trapped in this nightmare
There's no getting out.
All the happiness I felt
Is now in a drought.
I'm completely alone
I'll never love again
And the only way out
Is to come to an end.
