A judging perfectionistA Poem by Rose MasenFor the judgmental and perfect. (Inspired by "Playing God"- Paramore)
Wrong is right and right is wrong,
I refuse to sing to the tune of your song. Your judgmental ways are like theft, Do I go left where nothings right, or go right where nothings left? You judge, despise, and throw looks, This is self-fulfilled not learned from books. With thoughts, I decide, Without caring, you chastise. I agree to disagree, You disagree to understand and respect me. With statements so cold how could you think to be clever, Saying 'Once my good opinion is lost; it's lost forever'. It's never enough, for you cannot be pleased, Unless you belittle others, only then are you appeased. I'm my own person with opinions and thoughts, You become cruel and distraught. I make a move; one step on track, You ridicule and degrade, attempting to pull me two steps back. If your holier than thou why waste your time, On a "little girl, like me, trapped in a disapproving life"? I commit mistakes and learn from the best, You look down upon me and declare I'm nothing; just like the rest. I cannot live and learn with your point of view, You pick and dwell like some pessimistic shrew. You feel you're so perfect, my beliefs you slaughter, With that in mind, can you walk on water? © 2011 Rose MasenAuthor's NoteFeatured ReviewReviews
