False face

False face

A Poem by Rose Masen

Smiles, laughs, joy
I shun away from these
They're not me.

You know, I actually really relate to this. Not in the sense that I truly don't identify with happy emotions, but that I shy away from what you listed when I'm sad. I don't put on the false face when I'm feeling a certain way. I like the honesty in this quite a lot. "They're not me" could refer to a particular point in time, not all the time. I enjoy the complexity beneath this poem's simple surface.

Short but true. Not only for you but for me! None of those things are true for me

I love it!
