Wishing well

Wishing well

A Poem by Rose Masen
"

...I'll just never understand..

"

Do we ever stop and think?

Of our hearts and how they link?

The stories they plead to tell

a memory, like a penny in a wishing well?

Remembering the years

not bothering to dry the tears

the flame of love cooling in my heart

as it dreads the day we part.

How could you let this be

it seers my soul to set you free.

I cannot change your mind

or in the wishing well would go my last dime.

My heart screams for my mind to awaken

My mind, defeated at my hearts breaking.

We can't let this love be freed,

please, honey, hear my plea;

Please don't walk away, don't forget

don't stop loving me, don't have any regret.

Turn to me, like always; your back bone

Let's exchange our love, intertwine our souls

Our fruitful wishing well,

turned to a personal hell.

Inadequacies in your writing? Not so much. This impressively well done. It's very fluid and displays skill.

Ah, wishing the things we really dont need but want indeed. Now what could happen if they were all to come true? Well, just give thanks they still havent. Very good

So hopeful yet bittersweet which is the conundrum of life...you really expressed it well, Rose. :)
