Sneak peak

Sneak peak

A Chapter by Willa Ares
"

Okay so, this is kind of a sneak peak ahead in the book. Hence the title.

"
I woke to sound of screaming, swords striking against each other and the bright light of fire all around me. I opened my eyes slowly and blinked several times to clear away the dirt and ashes that had settled on my face. I turned my head slowly to the side and saw a girl, her face towards me a few feet away, with a sword in her chest. She was pretty despite the blood and scars that covered her face; her hair was a light brown color. The same color as mine I thought as I closed my eyes. She couldn't be more then fifteen or sixteen. I tried to take a deep to keep calm but a giant amount of pain shot up my side. I groaned and grit my teeth. I forced my eyes open to look at the injury but all I could see was blood, I tried to move my hand to stop the bleeding but a pain shot up my arm and my vision went black for a moment. I closed my eyes and silently counted to five. "One." I thought as I took a deep breath and felt the pain in my side slowly become bearable. "Two." I thought as I slowly wiggled my fingers despite the pain and pressed down on the wound. "Three" I thought as I forced myself into a sitting position, then a crouch and then finally on my feet. "Four" I whispered as I searched the ground looking for my sword, finally seeing it I picked it up. "Five" I said as I looked around at what only could be described as hell and ran to answer those cries for help.
