The Blissful Depths Of SnowA Poem by J.J.WrayMy adventure on a snowy night in CheshireThe Blissful Depths Of Snow
Upon my eve of snow As I walk to my desolate place Human tracks lead me less as I enter my alone haven The snow affectionately kisses me as the frost attempts to bite Never before have I seen the night so filled with light The blinding light pierces my eyes, as I wander down my lonely path I pass the broken creek, the lonely ghost goes by I pass hers and my bench of unity, my heart fills with loss My love I miss thee, I long for thee The trees are magnificently still as they fill with white They appear more beautiful than the angels dance The sea of snow drowns me I’m engulfed by flames of white I take the snow within my hand A scent with my soft breath So cold I can taste it in the willowing winds The night animals are not out to play tonight I see the tracks of the ghost dog and yet no sight of him, he scares me terribly I hear the sound of a swimming swan however no drop stirs a ripple Is it too cold for this elegant one? And where are the night nymphs? That are always dwelling out here It seems nothing can exist in this very place Cold is life whilst white covers all Thunders in the distance, an unfortunate silence The fields are pale, with masses of the pale This meadow of white is my euphoria And yet this is a miserable night just like the last I find myself in a far off land, I cannot believe the beauty My aimless wondering ceases as I lie down and crush the snow White is all I saw ‘till my untimely end © 2011 J.J.Wray |
