The PreserverA Poem by J.J.WrayMeditations of the Sun.The Preserver I question the motives of the Sun Why create so much? Are you the deity we have been worshipping all this time? You are mocking me with your disrespectful still emptiness? Show me the way to live; you must have watched unfathomable souls in your time to know the correct way to exist Through your wisdom and incomparable knowledge show me how to live my life The clouds slide over, concealing the truths to our lives, dampening my hopes of reaching my dreams, do you not feel the same? The moon is revealed through the suns glow as does Satan through Gods Such things life shows us, and yet are all thoughts ultimately nothing? I am infected with darkness and the sun will not help me The only heat I can feel is searing despair yet frozen in the shadow The sky is so blue, a paleness that reminds me of my childhood A baby blue I once cared for Now it is a painful reminder of where I came from and the early memories that shape my self loathing, I would like to forget the colour of blue. The day gets old; the deity lowers in our skies Fades to a gentle tone of God. How beautiful, and so powerful is our provider and preserver Why would I ever be remembered when I am a debt to mankind and its earth? If every human soul is unique and priceless then when does our deity not know such? Answer me great one, provide me with a purpose as well as a discernable life I will not lie in my grave before you answer me The evening’s sky is so vast and threatening Closing my will into a silent murmur My deity why do you disgrace me? For I cannot, I don’t want to die alone and cold My preserver, what is your motive? © 2011 J.J.Wray |
