Baptism....we just can't move on ...with all that "past" sticking to us....
God says " come as you are"... but ya have to let go. from a pic prompt ...this isn't the pic ...lost in the meley
Love the picture of "Ophelia" -
To be drowned in absolution - to be forgiven for all the wrongs and submerged in peace as if it is water - would feel like heaven. This is a beautiful poem - Leah
I have read Re~Birth Aquatic several times. This is a spiritually charged piece of work, which has had a personal impact my heart. Focussing on references to your words, ' promises from God' and 'inner Eucharist', gave me an soulful warmth. Great poem!
Yes Lawd.
How wondrously metaphoric; a baptism by the ocean's edge ridding us of what the Apostle Paul called: "the old man," making us new creatures indeed. The blue font suits this, representing ocean/sky at their finest. The imagery easily conjures up the best sights and sounds of the seaside. I especially loved the last stanza, from its reverential language to its formatting.
He who the Son sets free...
is free indeed.
Hallelujah!
Be Blessed!

You are able to invest your poem with all kinds of fascinating exotica.
"alluring sky and surf
compete their plea. " ==========>>>>my favorite metaphor...
You are such a clear thinking poet, you manage, through analogy,
"Slow steady kiss
of summer sun,
warms the flesh
between my spirit
and the sea. " =>>>>a great analogy
metaphor,
"Death of flesh
and latent sins,
cleansed by waves,"
logical argument,
"Seagulls dare
tendrils of foam "
and example
"that tease the tideline, "
to make his points with the kind of clarity that poets rarely reach. I liked your beautiful poem very much.
