Just Words

If people were held accountable for What they SAY ....in the same way ...as we are for...what we DO ( we'd all be locked up doing life ...or HEROS ) think about it ?

 

Lord ...protect  me

from late night encounters

of the.... word kind

Generating empty topics

through my phone line

Insipid converstion....

of the worst kind

 

Complete mental anethesia ....

of my Third eye

my task to deal and bear it

 

Empty promise indulging

"sweet nothings"....... gone savage

the meaning...

so lost

your brain....under average

 

Dial tone ....finally comes

I rebuke what I heard....

Brush it off...

back to sleep

after all....

They're just words

Wow! At least I'm truly grateful that I don't at least have your phone number, and even if I had it that I wouldn't be one of the unlucky few who've attempted calling you, if not then at least it's a good thing knowing that this poem doesn't have my name written on it. Such firey anger you have! But at least ... they're just words. Or are they really?

The fluidity of the language here is so impressive:
"sweet nothings"....... gone savage
your brain....under average
It flows; like a prayer should; each highlighted word incorporated into the poem without the end result sounding forced or contrived. The red font gives those terms extra impact and I loved how your ending dismissed the entire ordeal as inconsequential.
I would have just hung up though.
That's an area I might need to work on.

I love this.It reminds me so much of what I am going through now when the phones rings all night and I now barely hear the words of love or anger, there just words..........I love the tone throughout!!
The red a great way to highlight anger!Loved it!
