I did a road trip in April. Started in New York City. Drove to Philly, then DC... all points in between. First time I'd been to NYC. Unbelievable for a Northern boy. Even saw the famous "Naked Cowboy" performing in Times Square on Sunday afternoon.
This lovely little piece of yours reminded me of a street we walked down in Philadelphia on the way to Jim's Steaks, a famous old cheese steak restaurant. I think it was on 2nd Street. What an amazing experience.

I guess this is rambling a bit... sorry. It's just that you reminded me of our walk down that street in the old part of downtown Philly. Your three little lines brought all of that back!

I'm glad I picked this piece to read. I love your style of writing. This piece is the hardest for me to write, and I'm not sure why, but you created a live, in the city image, that had a feel to it. To do that with so few words, is true writing. Rain..
