Walking it off

Walking it off

A Poem by J. Hampton

private....
grey.
envelops me oddly.
a comfort that numbs my walk along the shore.
It erases the distance ,the time ...
the sharp shells and stones.
it muffles the sounds Of effervescent children and... the scream.
Yes... the disruptive scream... of yellow ,orange and purple.
Summer colored things ... tropical tones of torture.
someone else's happiness.
my solitude begs for someone to hold its hand.
the birds chatter amongst themselves, dipping, gliding and soaring beautifully with the Grace that somehow eludes me

A decidedly lonely walk.
Apparently, what's missing in your life looms so much larger than what you have--a profoundly sad state of affairs.
Masterfully portrayed.

Oh stop it. We hold the key, they have to spoil us.
Happiness becomes a lie in such a time. There are times we will wallow in the grey, because we are allowed to, almost required to, in order to know we're human.

Breathtaking poem J.

I embrace it...denial gets one nowhere
thanks for reading
I'm certain that true grace has never eluded you my friend. Life is full of challenges, pitfalls and setbacks. The older I get, the deeper the pitfalls seem, the tougher the challenges become and the setbacks require much more recovery time. But I'm enduring for my crown...same as everyone in the race. If I fall I may lean on a friend until I can walk again...even if I lose the ability to run. Bless.
