You built a wall around my heart...and now you can't break through.

A monument to mistrust

Built of lies and half truths

Disappointments and hurtful words

A dream shattered by neglect 

 

 

The bricks of oppression

Sealed from within

With tears of loneliness

Thick with my own blood

Spilled from wounds now unseen

But not unfelt

 

You were not meant

To scale the walls you built

But to sit in mournful remembrance

Of the love you vowed to cherish

And instead destroyed
