Quiet, Love

Quiet, Love

A Poem by J Carly
"

"

I knew you wanted me

though you never said a word

You knew I needed you

though I never told you

You never had to speak to be heard

You just had to quiet the voices around you

Listen close, and you would hear...

My heart beating loud and true

Pull me close and you would hear

My heart beating, I love you.

I know you still want me

you don't have to say a word

You know I still need you

I don't have to tell you

You don't have to speak to be heard

My love drowns out the voices around you

Listen close, you can still hear...

My heart beating loud and true

Quiet, love, and you will hear

My heart beating, I love you.

I love you...

I Love You...

I LOVE YOU.

This should be spoken by two people, in whispering voices. One column, one voice...until the last three lines, when they join together in a whisper, getting louder with each line. **** Recently published in the February/March issue of Babel's Gate. ****

Simply elegant and amazingly romantic...great work!

Seems like an effective duet to me. I love the exchange of words between them, so gentle and touching. And I think it really has hushed tone to it as if the words were too precious to be heard by anyone else. Moreover, though it creates no intentional imagery, I can seem to imagine two people in love, eyes sparkling so bright. Wonderful poem.

Keep Writing. ^___^

Wow, the balance you create is superb! I mean with the form and the final stanza and you know the subject matter and well everything actually.
A very enjoyable read needless to say.

What a wonderful imagery and feel you create... I love your guidance in reading.. The flow moves like a soft song to reach deep within the heart.

High marks for the creativity in this piece! Making it interactive, in that it is designed for two whisperers, was a great idea that heightens the sense of intimacy conveyed by your words. As I sit here imagining hearing it performed, it has an almost voyeuristic quality, as though I'm listening in on a private moment between lovers.

Wow. A wonderfully effective method of presentation/delivery/performance. It meshes well, the back and forth, before eventually becoming one. Sort of a grand metaphor for the romantic dance that so many of us undertake. Complimentary, almost lyrical.

Beautiful
