The Day of Joy

The Day of Joy

A Poem by J.A.Bentley
"

A quick write of poetry for my good friend, and brother who was just married this past Saturday 7/3/011. Hard to put into words the real joy I beheld that day. This is my feeble attempt.

"
Can one wonder how the
lightning tangos
amidst the sunlit skies
darting between summer clouds
as the birds, caw out, passing by?

Or think on the melodic notes
in the juice of a mango
as it swaps its sticky sweet
for the prime spot there
nestled in your cheeks.

It was that type of mystery
that surrounded the day of a friend
of a brother
of a much-beloved man
when he was married for once
never to be again!

It was that type of joy
that one can only taste and see
and see its goodness and purity
but yet remain unable to
describe and put into descriptive words aptly.
