The overwhelming purpose

Dig in deeper, and find what really pumps the heart valves.

Man!
If only we could know
the underlying streams,
the details
that determines the flow.
The mixtures and recipes
the endless streams
of choices
and delicacies
Is this what poetry is about?
Just metered rhymes
and put in
your creative nouns?
What is the bigger goal?
Should it not be
to reach
the soul of prose!
Dig in far deeper
and try to find
that core
mining the depths for the reader
It won't always be so perfect
with straight lines
and even-
metered rhyming couplets
Yeah, it takes skill and time
for the perfect form
but first if you have no soul
than...your poem is
a lie.

First let me say, I read this the first time at 3am - it dawned upon me I have writers block...

So, I tried - to no avail - I tried... No flow removed from my waves on to my page. Just couldn't break the spell, I think I broke a blood vessel - I passed out (not of drinking) because I was Overwhelmed.

In effect I woke up 2 hours ago with this poem on my laptop screen - ugh~ here we go again.

What is my point to all of this? Your poem was effective and personal to me. I enjoyed the flow and the ending piece. (If my write takes a tad too long... could it be I am lying to myself?) Exactly~

Here I go again, my page is set wish me good luck on my journey.

I love it. Poetry should be the heart song. Nothing more..Nothing less. I think if the reader cannot relate and feel....Understand the words being used, the meaning gets lost in translation. Just my thoughts, And I really like this poem that touches upon the reality of "feeling".
