To Love Life

To Love Life

A Poem by J.A.Bentley
"

This was inspired chiefly due to the campus I was attending, and still am, at the time. Perhaps you'll see.

"

I wish to be like Daniel

a prophet of times old

I pray to be humble

and righteous like the man of God, Job.

To follow when few walk beside

my heart grieves for them, those on the sidelines

I shed no tears, but my sadness can be felt

can you hold my heart?

In a place so full of truth,

I find so little spirit

the price of the tongue is high

while the heart wins few merits.

I wonder what if we were all mute

Would we continue to be beautiful, or look so cute?

I shed no tears, but look into my eyes

see the deepness of my heart?

I know He will lead me

He always had so far

I love Him more than...

for He gave me this new heart.

I cannot stand, I have no strength of mine

But in this place, this weakness, He is with me, and I am fine.

I shed tears, for I know true love.

Can you see my heart?
