Endless

Endless

A Poem by J.A.Bentley
"

Although the situation has changed and the inspiration vanished, this poem is still profound who feel that endless yearning.

"

An endless poem curls from my heart

from the soils within me

grows this timeless poem.

I cannot sing it,

for I would only ruin

I cannot give air to it

because it rises on its own.

I fail to capture such a poem

in every stroke of the pen

I fail in every attempt to

give you notice of these endless lines

but I have resolved to just breathe

in the hopes that a poem such as this

may just reach your heart,

your lips.

I pray it does but I'm unsure

we are far apart

the distance is great

but I hope in the length of this poem

that it may someday reach you

over there

the place where I have left

and you now bear.

As the poem floats from my air

to yours

let it soothe you

and let it warm again

within your heart

so that upon my return

it is not cold,

for how long I'll be

God does only know.

I have tied this note to it,

to give notice on how to notice

this very timeless poem

and from which heart

it has been grown.

Here is some added information for keeps.

Organically raised with no preservatives

So store in a warm heart lest it spoil of cold

Take it out every now and again

for exercise on your breath and tongue

so I find it strong upon return.

And on that day we'll find out how to read

and the words of this poem we'll learn.
