A Poem of a Flower

Concerning a friend of mine after I witnessed her going through some struggles of life

Beauty rarely seen

with fewer to know it

a flower that blooms

in the midst of darkness

with purest shade of white

clothing it's frame

with it's source of life

hidden within

"it's a pearl of wisdom"

some say

Some

"Just good luck"

But I know it's different

I know it well

I'm the brother of this flower

and I too in the darkness dwelled

But now with darkness gone

and light revealed

the truth that grows inside

grows a love that's truly real

To bloom in darkness

is a blessing hardly known

for it gives within

a love for light that truly grows

I know this flower

and I know it's light

with faith in this light's power

I can only be right.

Hear now!

A new proverb to proclaim!

A seed not crushed by soil

grows only to be lame!

 

Some would ask now

"How can I have this too?

I want to have this flower

in fact, give me two!"

In apt reply

and with much pleasure

"sorry my friend, for you see this flower,

it's price has no measure.

And the joy it gives

it has no end.

but there is truth and spirit in prior writ,

so please dig in.

And as for the flower, well I cannot give.

You see it was given to me

As this is a gift I treasure

Giving it away cannot be."
