As a Lowly SheepA Poem by J.A.BentleyOn what voice does your ears fall?
A profound sense to words uttered
across a pulpit paired with applause seems but mutters a muted note may fill the ears of the deaf and a dull knife may butter the bread and sackcloth does make a pillow and placebos can be a pill These are all true and more to varying degrees If you are willing to trade your clean vestige for fleas and fine wine for a cold thick mead My master opened my ears and called and I, lowly as a sheep, followed but on what voice do your ears fall? Does it resonate richly or hollow? © 2011 J.A.BentleyReviews
