Burn the Bridges that Separate

Burn the Bridges that Separate

A Poem by J.A.Bentley

Let no fence
Guide you blind
Let no rope of social to-dos
Tie you to inner fortitude
Be beautifully weak
Be gentle
Be meek
I want the you
That you can't
Maybe won't be
I want unreality
I desire to be
Also in that same breath
Void from what. I. See
Because if I see you,
I see you how I could never see me...
Beautiful.

I want to get to a point
A fine point
To point B
Where I traverse these
Personal, self-made
and convoluted
Boundaries
That I can't pass now
Just to say
"Hi, you sure are beautiful
Today"

I smile somewhat
Like a little nervous
Perhaps, because
Another face
Your face, well you...
Make this harder
And I feeling smaller
Doesn't help...
Swallow. Speak.
"Would you like some
Coffee?"
*smiley face*
