More from the OfficeA Chapter by J Todd UnderhillShaking and shuddering I walk inside The office seems preserved throughout time The implements of the doctor’s sickness do not hide Scattered about as if to tell about his crime.
I feel as if I am paralyzed with fear Recalling the stories of the doctor’s rage Bringing me close to shedding a tear The stories undulled with my growing age
The office was empty except for me No other living being was in the room In the moments that I could clearly see When the lightning illuminated the room Remembering the tales the my grandfather told The imagery my life through it taunted The air around me is unnaturally cold No doubt the asylum is haunted
