Sonnet in memory of LMS

Sonnet in memory of LMS

A Poem by J Todd Underhill

"

I know you are watching from above.

Grinning at times when the Beach Boys play.

Showering us all with heavenly love,

Fourteen years ago, this very day.

Holding those that are planned to arrive;

Controlling the radio most of the time.

Watching over poetic goals to which I strive,

Maneuvering luck when the schedule is prime.

I know you smile and my unmitigated gall,

Though I am unsure if you are proud.

Speaking my words without a care at all,

Whether in hushed tones or screamed aloud.

Your presence here is wholeheartedly missed,

Though I feel your energy still doth exist.

Such a beautiful and heart tugging write. I love the flow of your write. This is quite emotional.

What a lovely remembrance of someone you loved and hold dear to your heart. Still feeling their presence is perhaps the most lasting gift any of us can provide when we leave this world.
