Ge na Sumbanain

Ge na Sumbanain

A Poem by J Todd Underhill

My loyalty need not be tested,

A few have provoked my wrath.

Like Porter Rockwell I shall not be bested,

Bleeding my soul to page as I laugh.

I may be no Isaac Parker, but I know,

How he felt when casting a fate.

More poetry left for me to show,

Good or bad subject, of much debate.

I have hung with some shady souls,

Like the legendary Bat Masterson.

Writing my thoughts and my goals,

While critics and readers seem to shun.

Like Wyatt Earp with vendettas I ride,

The wild west, home to my victories.

Confiding to page what I feel inside,

But also sharing my hidden miseries

Time is running out to share what I have to say,

But I will pen my thoughts for the world to read.

Hacking and sputtering like Doc Holiday,

Until the day my health forces me to concede.
