Cocktails for TwoA Poem by J Todd UnderhillNaPoMo Entry 7 04/07/2024Strolling down the long-crowded avenue. I run into the woman that I adore. With lust and giddiness filling me right through, We pick up conversation from before. I ask this lady if she’d like a drink, And get to know each other much better. She said to me “I like the way you think.” As I think to myself go and get her. We step inside a close neighborhood bar, And order the drinks of our desire. Then forgetting exactly where we are, I told her that she stokes my passion’s fire. And thus began the love that fills me through, Thursday afternoon and cocktails for two. 04/07/2024 © 2024 J Todd Underhill |
