Screaming and SpeedingA Poem by J Todd UnderhillNaPoMo Entry 2 04/02/2024Screaming bounces off my tympanic membrane. The sound falling on deaf ears. Rock and Roll Motorhead who’s gone insane, A product of my wilder years. Speeding on the freeway called life, Reckless and out of control. Slowing down with added age and strife, But my life sure has been full. Screaming guitars and thunderous drums, Decadence oozing from my every pore. Walking through life with nothing but thumbs, Younger adventures make this old poet sore. Speeding until my heart tells me no more, The I will peacefully concede my fight. When my maker wants me, back in heaven like before, I will be at peace know everything is right. Screaming from the room with padded walls, My own mind is my worst enemy. Speeding when my memory calls. Reflecting on what’s stored inside of me. 04/02/2024 © 2024 J Todd Underhill |
