Much Needed Lecture

You can do better; I know that you can.

Each day that passes I see you trying.

I have watched you grow from a boy to a man.

I know when you are truthful and when you are lying.

 

You should hold yourself to a higher regard,

Expect more from you than others do.

I do not care how deeply you are scarred.

May inspiration fill you through.

 

Light up your hand and enlighten your mind,

Write on my brother write on.

Put your ego in check and be more kind.

Think of the inspiration you will spawn.

 

Move closer so I can see you clearer,

Dang, I bumped my head right on the mirror!

[Poetic Beauty]

We are more critical of ourselves than anyone else could be on many subjects. We can be our own worst enemies. Overthinking and trying to make us push harder.

I love the head bumping into the mirror. It gave it me a bit of a chuckle make light of a more serious topic.
