Awaiting SpringA Poem by J Todd Underhill02/16/2024Winter gloomy days need to go away, Relent the snow for those springtime showers. The budding trees in the wind now sways, Cumulonimbus clouds rise like towers. Trading snow for the blessed farmer’s rain, Setting the stage for a real bumper crop. The memories quite stoically remain, As the large snowflakes continue to drop. Wishing this winter would finally subside, And that the ground hog has been actually right. Wanting to travel with my best friend bride, Instead of shoveling, all heavy and white. Biting my lip waiting for the day, Spring, please arrive without further delay. 02/16/2024 © 2024 J Todd Underhill |
