No Such Thing as CoincidenceA Poem by J Todd UnderhillYou don't want to read thisWhat
interesting timing this world shows me. Irony
or coincidence in which I do not believe. I
do comprehend all of the signs and symbols. I
am mere an observer of the wheels of the universe. All
things happen for a reason. There
is a higher plan in place, Though
we may not understand. Stressful
days drawing to a closed, Life’s
tide seems to change once again. Shaking
off the week’s events. Head
to the park with Miss Tori Mae. All
things happen for a reason. There
is a higher plan in place, Though
we may not understand. Having
a smoke away from the crowd, Familiar
faces pass by on the street. Watching
Victoria from a far. I
ponder the actions on the playground. All
things happen for a reason. There
is a higher plan in place, Though
we may not understand. Poetic
mentor and master walks up, Looking
lost for a concert that he is to play, I
asked him if he remembered me, And
his lecture I had attended All
things happen for a reason. There
is a higher plan in place, Though
we may not understand. He
shared his news of publication, Upcoming
shows in our area. I
purchased his book without a thought, And
we caught up on lost time. All
things happen for a reason. There
is a higher plan in place, Though
we may not understand. He
knows not that I eavesdropped on his concert, From
the safety of my back porch. Listening
intently yet unseen, As
I prepared for the coming day. All
things happen for a reason. There
is a higher plan in place, Though
we may not understand. I
read from his tome I bought, Thinking
how fate twists our lives. I
swig from my coffee and light up another, And
once again I realize. All
things happen for a reason. There
is a higher plan in place, Though
we may not understand. © 2023 J Todd Underhill |
