Patriotic Sonnet

It has been said that these colors don’t run,

And do not tread on the red white and blue.

May the stars and stripes fly within the sun,

Filling this poet with great pride right through.

Hell yeah I am a real American,

Mess with my home and I swear I don’t play.

And then we’ll notify your next of kin,

For standing against the American way.

Patriotic pride deep within my soul,

Blessed by God within the land of the free.

This wonderful land I love and extol,

The best game in town by any degree.

Do nothing to test my love and my pride,

You might just end up on my fighting side.
