Belleview Avenue EmptyA Poem by J Todd Underhill11/29/2021The Moon in the sky in my rearview mirror, Grinning like the proverbial Cheshire Cat. A November night could not be clearer, I stop to ponder where I am at. Christmas lights dot the scenery flowing by, And I am filled with the spirit once more. Driving my night away, but I wonder why, Wanting to spoil all whom I adore. Fresh coffee smells delicious at midnight, While you are working to make ends meet. Post-Holiday traffic is such a delight I am nearly the only driver on the street. Early morning thoughts within my mind, As I make my way towards home and peace. The Cheshire Cat still smiling behind, As the moon slowly rises from the east. 11/29/2021 © 2021 J Todd UnderhillFeatured Review
