Poetic FreakA Poem by J Todd Underhill06/19/2019The future is so bleak I cannot speak, Best days in my rearview mirror. Poets and Prophets courageous or meek, Destiny laid out, finality becoming clearer.
Like divine that came and went before; I write the inspiration down to pages. Soon to crawl the night’s plutonian shore, Just like the other chiefs and sages.
Then I may have what I cannot gain on earth; Peace and clarity for my infirmed mind. Joy and happiness, merriment and mirth. The third eye no longer scabbed over blind.
When the Rooster crows, I will awake; From this dream that I called living. Leaving volumes as my poetic wake. Of my all that I am giving.
The future is so bleak I cannot speak, But I force myself try as I may. Remaining as I lived, a poetic freak, Up until my final day.
