Turning Away From Darkness

Turning Away From Darkness

A Poem by J Todd Underhill

"

Bringers of evil seem to surround me,

Trying to tempt me to stumble and fall.

Hellish wicked ways seem to confound me,

I do not choose to heed the demon’s call.

My eyes opened to the path I now lead

I broke the magic wand and crystal ball

Unfulfilling unto this poet’s need

Even though the Ouija once did enthrall.

Mysteries of this earth I still ponder,

But now I set my sights above it all.

The hand of fate filled me up with wonder,

My ears closed unto the demonic wrawl.

Creature of the night now lives in the light,

Light in his spirit and filled with delight.
