Tori Mae’s First Birthday

Just some thoughts this morning

Your entrance could only be dramatic,

That sunny day in the middle of May.

Making your grandma and I ecstatic,

All while making our hair grow much more gray.

 

Micro-Preemie with nothing but high hopes;

And a wink to show that you are alright.

While gallantly changing your horoscopes;

Ready too soon to set this world alight.

 

NICU’s little rock star extraordinaire,

Exceeding the doctor’s expectations.

Giving your parents an occasional scare,

But overcoming all complications.

 

Miss Tori Mae is one year old today,

And still owning it all in her own way!
