The First Poem of 2019A Poem by J Todd Underhill01/01/2019A new year is born Upon a winter’s morn. Anticipation of things to come, Wind is cold and fingers numb. I listen to the revelers cheer, Fireworks both far and near. Drunken mayhem down my street, Without which Englewood’s not complete. I count the blessings in my life. Granddaughter, Daughter and beautiful wife. Knowing I give my all each and every day, It is just the Underhill Way. Give all and watch it return, Better than any pay you earn. I hope this year I improve myself, Spiritually and in wealth. For now I hope it’s the best I have seen, Welcome… Welcome Two thousand nineteen.
