The Ghost of MeA Poem by J Todd Underhill10/08/2018The Ghost of Me
I haunt the halls of this my former home; Dreaming for the days before death’s visit. Now empty hallways my spirit doth roam, A shadow of myself on exhibit.
My chambers leave me saddened to the core; Longing to hold you one more time again. I feel like I cannot take any more; And a frown now lurks where once was a grin.
Madness echoes off of the walls around me, The pictures of our life before the change. The fading memories that now surround me, The familiar now seems to be so strange.
I miss you so much my once blushing bride; And haven’t been the same since when you died. © 2018 J Todd Underhill |
