An Autumn SonnetA Poem by J Todd Underhill09/25/2018The lazy hazy days of autumn come, Enjoying the fruits of our life’s labor. Though we toil until our hands are numb, These are the times we relish and savor.
Time to spend in deep contemplation; Looking back to the hustle of the spring. Ready for holiday celebration, The joys and visitation it may bring.
The sun sets early and shadows grow long, The ache of the summer begins to fade, When the crickets begin to sing their song, And brilliant art in the trees are displayed.
Though I really can’t tell you the reason; Autumn truly is a special season. © 2018 J Todd UnderhillFeatured Review
