Venomous VixenA Poem by J Todd Underhill03/09/2018Venomous Vixen
I think of you in the early morning hours; Enslaved by your ever enchanting powers, Captivating this poet’s infirmed mind. As if I am held by some force or magic spell, Whether from the heights of heaven or depths of hell; Your memory doth befuddle and bind.
Succubus sent to tempt mere mortal man; Wicked witch that wasn’t part of my plan, Enthralling with your sexual temptation. Making a mockery of the life I adore; Enticing me until I cannot take anymore, Which to have, salvation or eternal damnation?
I ponder what could have been; If we gave in to vile carnal sin, The images in my mind begin to play. With these lines I must confide; I am glad that I withstood the tide, And was able to turn away.
