A Kyrielle from a Humble Poet

Please turn this world away from war,

And heal the wounds from before.

Pour out grace in the final days,

Is what this poet humbly prays.

Sweep up your children left behind,

And restore sight unto the blind.

Please let the hardened see your ways,

Is what this poet humbly prays.

It has been said that in the end;

That no other god could contend.

Every knee to bend within praise,

Is what this poet humbly prays.

Please comfort the mentally ill;

And show them that you love them still.

Remove depression and malaise,

Is what this poet humbly prays.

When it’s time for you to return,

And set the kingdoms out to burn,

Then I will want the coming blaze,

Is what this poet humbly prays.

It is in you that I now trust,

A loving God that is so just.

Make me a student of your ways,

Is what this poet humbly prays.
