Tall and ProudA Poem by J Todd Underhill01/04/2017Tympanic membrane being abused; One hundred twenty beats per minute. Third eye Thoreau-ly contused, Confidently display my middle digit.
I care not what the world thinks, I am comfortable with who I am. However normality really stinks, Why should I give a damn?
I am me, no matter who is around, For I am not wanting to impress. Peace with my inner self I have found, This lizard has shed his anguish and distress.
Trading my nightmares for nice dreams, Holding my own as I walk this path. Choosing the right easier than it seems. Knowing I draw my creators wrath.
Alas I am comfortable with it all, And accept my role whatever it may be. Walking the rest of my life proud and tall, For I have allowed myself to be free.
