Winter's Slight StingA Poem by J Todd Underhill01/02/2018When the nights seem to take forever and, When winter cold remember one thing. Something said by a wise old man, Each step we take brings us closer to spring.
Words that were uttered just eight years ago, Echoing on like a ghost from the past. However the old man will never know, For shortly after they said that he passed.
Though I learned a lot from his humble words, About patience and the passage of time. Waiting once more those red breasted birds, And a joyous season that’s so sublime.
I know winter’s sting is slight and small, When compared to spring, the summer and fall.
