Gods GiftA Poem by J Todd Underhill01/01/2018Heavenly father I am thankful for what you gave me; Sending your only son to die and save me. I am truly unworthy of such a precious gift, Laying down his life to mend this sinner’s rift.
Such amazing grace to save my wretched soul, It is your love and guidance that I extol. Wanting all your children to return home one day, No matter how far it is they may stray.
I pray my thanks for your intervention; World salvation was your kind intention. This poet that was unforgiving and truly hateful, Has softened a bit and become wholly grateful.
I remember you spoke to my poetic ears; Strong enough to bring me to tears. And by your gift I was and will be saved, My name in the book of life engraved.
