Words for Robert Maudlin

The years have passed too quickly at times
Written out in thousands of poems and rhymes
But still to this day I am often pissed and jaded
The pain as promised just has not faded

Nineteen years gone and I hope you are proud
You dreams being realized by an ever growing crowd
People you never knew seeing your poetic vision
With my help pursuing your insane decision

Before your tragic exit could be completed
Angel of poetry swooped down and interceded
Kissing away all of your pain and strife
While lifting you from this horrid mortal life

I have upheld the order, spoken with hand a fire
Living for the dreams which we both did aspire
Unto this day I have held on to you book,
and still occasionally I pull it out and take a look.

I hope that you watch on from wherever you're at
And have forgiven every minor spat
I know you understand my passion and my drive
I only wish that you were still here alive
