Poetic WinterA Poem by J Todd Underhill12/29/2017Here we are in the bleakest of season; My heart needs lifting in a major way. Mild depression without a reason; Leaving this poet without much to say.
Now the solstice signals the corner’s turn; Let’s drum up the sun; Let’s drum up the sun. Christmas carols as the Yule log doth burn, And yet we find another year is done.
The daylight seems to be in short supply, The dark nights seem to stretch on forever. My spirit inside me just wants to cry, Now the summer’s heat I miss and treasure.
My mind like a metallic toccata; As my spirit plays Moonlight Sonata.
