Ode To Love

Ode To Love

A Poem by JohnnyB

Two people live together

In a world all of their own,

Searching for peace and happiness,

They travel all alone;

They realize that no others,

Have room in this world they've made,

Alone they have taken the ups and downs,

And the dues alone they've paid;

Of course they have times of trouble,

But they always manage to pull themselves through,

They know as long as they trust in each other,

There is nothing they can't do;

No questions of doubt exist in their minds,

They know their lives are complete,

They walk through their world side by side,

Never bowing at each other's feet;

Each has sacrificed for the other,

To help their little world grow,

They keep the door to understanding open,

Without putting on a phony show;

Selfishness has no home in their world,

Neither does any other childlike dealings,

For they learned a long time ago,

To respect the other one's feelings;

To them success is not money,

It's the little world they have found,

In each other's company they walk,

Always feeling safe and sound;

They let no one trespass into their world,

They keep watch both day and night,

If someone should attempt to conquer their world,

They are fully prepared to fight;

There is no one or any thing,

That walks or exists in this land,

That could destroy the world of these two people

For they are in complete command;

They will journey together throughout this lifetime,

Until one or the other has passed,

For they have found the key that's needed,

To make their precious world last;

Wherever they're found they'll be together,

Their way lit by the sun above,

You'll find them walking hand in hand,

As they walk through their world of love.

Originally titled A Private World, this is one of the first five poems I wrote once I decided I was not going to write them to lovers any more (give them away, which I did for a few years previous without keeping copies) but rather keep them in a notebook. Which title fits better?

I REALLY liked this one.. there was so much in this to admire! A high sense of love.. devotion and loyalty flows so profoundly in this writing.. the likes so many fail to find in life! A sense of equality.. with both high ranking to each other.. friendship eternal! Combining your message with rhyme, rhyme and flow is just a magical essence.. and truly the highest aspiring dream worth more than any money! Loved it.. if this was written for a spouse or as a tribute to a real relationship.. if they have this.. they are very lucky indeed! PRICELESS!!!

I like Ode To Love. This is so very beautiful and so well written. It has a nice rhythm to it that makes it a joy to read. Nice rhyming too. This is how a relationship should be. Excellent job.

Thay walk through their world sise by side,

Never bowing at each other's feet; - beside the other wonderful lines I like this a lot. It is so important not to take on a subordinate role in relationships

great work. regards, L. Gandré
